Commissioned watercolor work. 9"x12" watercolor on paper.

i was given a printed sheet of poetry and a wine bottle, and asked to paint "something" with the specific wine bottle, lyrics and a calla lilly. and voila, here it is. the recipient was delighted. see, sometimes i do sell things.

Quite beautiful. The bold colors give this a feeling much like paintings by Van Gough. The detail is lovely. And the simplicity is quite relaxing.

thanks, this one i was given all the elements and told to make something with them. it sounds limiting, but i actually really like the way it worked, it defined the boundaries and i still had endless possibilities.

Love the contrasts of the bottle and wine glass -and the use of a proper wine glass too hehe. As mentioned before it does looks elegant. And now I want a glass of wine :/

should always use a bulb glass for red wine to catch the aroma of it. although it's a bit short like a brandy snifter, really. thank you.

I've always had trouble with colors getting muddy, regardless of what medium I'm using. I think, "if I throw some more red in there, it'll fix everything!" and then like twenty layers of color later I've got that indescribable color that's somewhere between gray and brown, with ugly purple thrown in. The color of scabs, actually.
