| As an undergraduate at Alfred University, I took as many different kinds of art courses as I could fit into my schedule. I tried my hand at photography, clay, wood, painting, illustration, glass blowing, casting, drawing, and digital art. During my summers I took extra courses that I couldnt cram into my semesters, and taught art at Bucks Rock Summer Arts camp in New Milford, CT. I graduated from Alfred in 2002 at the top of my class and immediately started working at MacKenzie-Childs in Aurora, NY, where I was hand-painting furniture pieces. Around that time I also got involved in a number of group shows around the state, as well as guest speaking at Corning Community College as a visiting artist. After downsizing at MacKenzie-Childs left me jobless in Aurora, I moved back to my hometown near Buffalo, NY. I became involved in their burgeoning art scene, joining the Redfish Studios in East Aurora and participating in a number of shows. In the summer I taught art classes at the Genessee Community College in Batavia. I moved to Binghamton in 2004 to be with my husband. I taught classes at the Art Mission and worked with other area artists to host First Friday Art Walk events and artistic publications, including new literary magazine, The Broome Review. I have been working in collaboration with mask-maker E.L. Downey to create a line of masquerade artwork based on her real masks, and jurying shows for the Binghamton Art Mission, while working on a number of freelance artistic projects. |
