Uncomfortable Fish

So, strangely enough, I've had more than one request for this piece as a print. The first one was done in ball-point pen in a lined notebook, then zipped through photoshop to clean it up. I wasn't comfortable (haha) with teh quality of that version, so I re-drew it all nice-like on vellum with a new super-fine sharpie liner (my new fav markers come in bulk at Sam's Club).

This fish was straight out of a nightmare I had years ago. In my dream I had a dry tickle in my throat and started coughing, and then upchucked this nasty fish. It was bigger than I was, and it rocked on it's tail in the driveway "grinning" menacingly. My dad was coming from behind the barn and I was desperately afraid it would hurt him, but I couldn't seem to shout to warn him.

The "uncomfortable with fish" tag line comes from a weird series of commercials for frozen fish products that involve like big "live" salmon sitting on the swingset or sitting in the aisle at the grocery store. weirdest commercials I have ever seen.
